Everywhere I look I’m seeing hype on the little elf who lost Christmas and has to venture through all the holidays to find it. I understand that the publisher has only a few weeks to hype the book and sell it. This time next week the returns will be rolling in. So they have to hype it when they can. Still, I grow weary.
Thought today I’d highlight a pb for little kids that sounds interesting and fun and educational. I’ve not read it yet but I’m going to order it and review it.
Something Shiny, Something Round is the second book published by Bubblegum Books, a small company owned by the author Juile Goulis, and the illustrator, John Ferguson.
When Goulis tells about the books, they sound wonderful. Fun and educational. I’m not sure I like the illustrations. What I am pretty sure of, is that I’d like to see these folks sell more than five thousand copies of these books. They are not printing up sludge and acting like their homemade books are wonderful. Their working smart, their site looks great, their books sound great, and I’d love to see them take off.
