I read Inkheart this week. Wonderful book! Then yesterday I met up with my favorite feechie fellow. I got to read the third book in the Wilderking Trilogy, The Way of the Wilderking. It was better than a Feechie feast. That Dobro is one funny guy.
I gotta tell you; it doesn’t get much better than Inkheart and Dobro in one week.

Sounds like you’ve had quite the Wilder-weekend. Oh, were you not cracking up reading The Way of the Wilderking? I wish we could talk about it — but I guess it’s still a secret. I laughed ’til I cried — you know, the dinner scene with Dobro. (“It’s the little things…”)
Did you know we had a little party in Japan this morning? I went to visit MomKori in Nara and saw that you’d already been there. How fun. We’ll have to fly over there often and see what she’s up to.
I wish the time weren’t on there. I should be in bed now. I’m embarrassed.
Oh, that’s OK Heather. You’re the mommy. You are allowed to make up the bedtimes. heh heh
And yes, that dinner scene . . . I’m lying on the couch laughing over it and my daughter says, “Is it that silly Dobro again, Mom?”
So I start to read her the passage and my husband and son both come rushing over, “Wait, wait, wait, we want to hear too. What’s that goofy guy up to now?”
I love the way he rides horses, too. He’s such an endearing character that you really can overlook the bad breath.
Now I’ll get to read the story again this week when I read it to the kids. They are old enough to read it themselves, of course, but these Wilderking books were just meant to be read aloud and shared with others. It adds hugely to the enjoyment of them.
