It’s time again for the KidzBookBuzz.com blog tour. We change thing up this month, and do our first picture book.
There are a lot of things to like about This is the Feast, written by Diane Z. Shore.
One great thing is that it is illustrated by Megan Lloyd who also illustrated, among others, all the books shown below.
Tomorrow I’ll put my review of This is the Feast up. Today, I urge you, if you have a few minutes to watch an interview Diane did with Good Day Atlanta about her book, This is the Dream.
Diane was a teacher before she became an author and her love for teaching, her love for historical accuracy, and her love for children come out in her words–both written words, and the ones she uses when she’s giving a presentation or interview.
Speaking of giving presentations, here’s little tip for wannabe children’s book writers: check out Diane’s speaking and school visit schedule. Yikes, the woman is busy.
I was fortunate to catch her a Barnes and Noble store the other day, and she does a wonderful job of engaging the children. I don’t know how tired she is with all these appearances she’s making but she comes across as someone who really enjoys capturing small minds and releasing them a half hour later a little more thoughtful than they were when she found them.

I really loved the illustrations in this book too. Going to have to check out more Megan Lloyd. Thanks for cluing me in to some of her other books.
