Before I announce the contest for a free book, I have to link to this video of the multi-talented Kim Norman on a school visit. Fun stuff.
Now, on to the business at hand. Several of the bloggers on the tour are giving away copies of Crocodaddy. The author of this fun picture book, Kim Norman, has graciously offered to mail out signed copies.
And, Book Chook, if you’re reading, I’ll mail to Australia if you win, since you sound like you’d really appreciate this book. It just won’t be a signed copy because I’ll mail you my copy. (It might not get there until Christmas…it will come by slow boat.)
So…what to do for a contest?
Think, think, think.
OK. In the book there is a refrain with words that change but with a beat that stays the same. “Croccodaddy, Croccodaddy whatcha gonna do? Crocodaddy hunter is riding on you.” Or “Crocodaddy, Crocodaddy, can’t get away! I’m on top and here I’ll stay.”
So for the contest write new words to this refrain and leave it in the comments section. It doesn’t have to be about a chase. It can be about anything as long as it’s an exchange with someone in the family.
For instance, here’s one I came up with: Crocosonny, Crocosonny, You’re on restriction. That’s what you get, for causing all this friction.
Yes!
When I sang that to the boy he answered with: Crocomommy, Crocomommy, you’re so uptight. You need to let loose–go fly a kite.
OK, your turn. Leave your wonderful poetry in the comment section and I’ll randomly pick a winner because I know all entries will be so brilliant I won’t be able to choose between them.
Contest is open until midnight Wednesday, May 20.
