Well, shucks. I meant to be good and do nonfiction posts every Monday. But I forgot. To be fair, I had a bit of a tough day yesterday. I got a flat tire, and after the AAA guy got me back on the road, I drove a few miles down the road and ran out of gas.

Let me tell, you. It’s not easy being such a ditz. It takes a certain amount of energy to manage life with such skill.
So, what has this to do with children’s books? Nada.
But I will use this ditziness in a book one day. I’ll exaggerate it a bit and paint a really distracted fat woman doing one stupid thing after another.
Hey, I dig down and get the pain from my own life, I might as well get the funny stuff there, too.

I’m sorry, but if you got a flat tire and then ran out of gas, you don’t have to exaggerate anything to include that scene in a book.
I hope your week’s gotten better!

ha ha, Anita. Yes, that’s true.
I don’t have to exaggerate the fat part, either.
But the truth is that the only thing that happened that day that was a result of my being distracted was when I locked my keys in the car. Yes, same day as the flat and the running out of gas.
The flat and the broken gas gauge were not my fault.
No, really, they weren’t. :D
