Some interesting links from around the blogosphere:
Here’s one group’s list of best children’s book blogs. A hundred of them. Some old, familiar faces. Some I’d not seen before. Check them out.
From Marian Hess’ blog, we have a wonderful flow chart describing the acquisitions process at Blooming Tree Press (and for almost any other publishing company). What I found really interesting was that all roads lead to rejection, but only one leads to acquisition. Bummer.
From Karin’s Book Nook we have a report of a contest for YA novelist. This looks great.
All entries must be received between 12:01AM EST November 1, 2009 and 11:59PM EST on November 30, 2009, the contest deadline. Limit one entry per person. Keep it short but sweet - no more than a title (25 words or less) and the first 250 words of the novel. (There is no minimum word count.)
Flashlight Worthy is a site I just discovered. They have quick reviews of many, many books. All they ask is that if you are going to shop Amazon that would please enter through their links. Not a bad deal considering the wealth of info you get at Flashlight Worthy for free.
I’m going to quit there, because these links will keep you busy all day if you go and visit.
